Glutamate-industry\npeople (the Glutes) rack up mileage on the road to deception by ignoring the\nfact that MSG-sensitive people refer to all of the ingredients that cause brain\ndamage, obesity, infertility, a-fib, seizures, migraine headache and other\nreactions as \u201cMSG.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With\nthe glutes using \u201cMSG\u201d to stand for \u201cmonosodium glutamate,\u201d confusion \u2013 or\nworse \u2013 is generated. Take some of their\ndouble-blind human studies of the safety of monosodium glutamate. \u201cMSG\u201d is said to be the test material, with\n\u201cclean\u201d ingredients used as placebos. However, those placebos may contain hydrolyzed proteins, autolyzed yeasts,\nmaltodextrin, and\/or citric acid<\/em>, all things that cause reactions in MSG-sensitive\npeople. The only thing these placebos won\u2019t contain is monosodium glutamate — the\nGlutes \u201cMSG.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nGlutes have done this in the past. And we seem to be the only ones to read\ntheir studies closely enough to have noticed. One would think that the FDA would\nknow exactly what they\u2019re doing since the Glutes routinely took the protocols\nof their studies to the FDA for approval. \nOne might even be so na\u00efve as to think that the FDA might care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We thought it would be fun to put some potholes in the Glutes road to deception by creating a new term for consumers to use when talking about the stuff in monosodium glutamate that causes our pain and suffering. We propose to use MSG just as the Glutes do, to stand for monosodium glutamate. But the amino acid that causes all the adverse reactions is M<\/em><\/strong>anufactured f<\/strong>ree G<\/strong>lutamate<\/em>, what we\u2019re now going to abbreviate and refer to as MfG<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
