Wait, what?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>(Author\u2019s note: When I came upon Colleen Christensen\u2019s November 12<sup>th<\/sup> blog, the first thing I noticed was this caveat at the top: \u201c<em>This post was developed in a sponsored partnership with\u00a0Ajinomoto\u00a0however, as always, all opinions are genuine.\u201d)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m betting that Colleen Christensen Nutrition is not the least bit interested in publishing my comments to her blog, \u201c<em>MSG (MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE): OK TO EAT.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll apologize to her if I\u2019ve misjudged, but years of reading glutamate-industry propaganda tell me that she\u2019s just another bird in the glutamate-industry\u2019s nest of journalists-for-hire \u2013 and that\u2019s not a wild guess, either. Not only does the blog start out by saying that it comes from a \u201csponsored partnership with Ajinomoto,\u201d but it contains links to official glutamate industry disinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colleen ended her blog with the following paragraph:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201c<\/strong>Despite much of the negativity we see associated with MSG, the ingredient is safe to consume and offers real taste and nutrition benefits (like sodium reduction.) Many of the misperceptions around this ingredient are rooted in racism, misinformation, and flawed studies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s my response:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colleen,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019re probably not interested in the fact that ingestion of free glutamate in processed food, snacks, protein powders and protein drinks, protein substitutes, dietary supplements, enteral care products, infant formula and pharmaceuticals may contribute to accumulation of free glutamate that causes brain damage and adverse reactions such as heart irregularities, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, depression, and seizures as well as abnormalities such as obesity, reproductive dysfunction, multiple sclerosis and neurodegenerative disease.\u00a0 But just in case I\u2019ve misjudged, I\u2019ll share information with you here that I have shared with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.
