A noteworthy strategy\nused these days is to parade \u201cmonosodium glutamate\u201d before the public as many\ntimes as possible along with positive words or phrases. This seemingly simple\napproach has created some amazingly powerful propaganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glutamate industry propaganda has traditionally been based on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Six Big Fat Lies (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/truthinlabeling.org\/lies.html\" target=\"_blank\">Six Big Fat Lies<\/a>, along with <a href=\"http:\/\/truthinlabeling.org\/blog\/2019\/04\/16\/the-whopper-the-ultimate-msg-propaganda\/\">The Whopper<\/a>, all bound up in beautifully wrapped consumer-friendly rhetoric.\u00a0 But at the end of April newspapers everywhere began publishing \u201c<strong><em>news\u201d releases<\/em><\/strong> in their business sections, announcing Ajinomoto\u2019s $10 million campaign to \u201cRescue MSG\u2019s Unsavory Reputation.\u201d (Ajinomoto is the world\u2019s largest producer of monosodium glutamate). What a great way to deliver its fiction that &#8220;monosodium glutamate is safe \u2013 and maybe even good for you\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And those who read these \u201cnews releases\u201d don\u2019t even realize that they are being brain washed by carefully chosen words and images that, they are told, describe MSG.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>safe, good for you, eat less salt, proudly, a chubby panda, traditional Japanese  broth, MSG for foods like chicken noodle soup, MSG\u2019s merits, knowledge that it is healthy<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, for good measure, they add a few words about the people who say that the excitotoxic free glutamic acid (glutamate) in MSG, in the quantity now in processed foods, kills brain cells, is an endocrine disruptor, and causes reactions like a-fib, nausea and vomiting, tinnitus, asthma, migraine headache and seizures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>fake\nnews, xenophobia not science, stereotypes about Asians, prejudice<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re new to the subject of MSG toxicity, please know that the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth can be found on the webpage of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthinlabeling.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Truth in Labeling Campaign (opens in a new tab)\">Truth in Labeling Campaign<\/a>.&nbsp; You might find the sections on \u201cdata\u201d and \u201clabel lies\u201d to be of particular interest.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The people who manufacture and sell monosodium glutamate are rich, powerful, and terribly creative.
