Subj: Happy New Year

Hello,

N. here again....I have not written in a while but trying to still be active in keeping up on your web site and the news of MSG.  I do appreciate your research and information gathering.

It saddens me that this issue is still not more forward in the media and known amongst society.  I know people have many things to worry about, but I have many friends recommending me as a resource to people when their kids start seeing severe allergies.  I recommend your site and give them the insight of my experiences.  I do want to point out........my doctor recommended a nurse in her office to me......ha,ha,ha.  I have been with my doctor since 1995, so I went through the MSG discovery with her when I suddenly started having issues in 1997.

MOST disturbing is the firemen/women and paramedics not aware of the symptoms.  My reactions have been accelerated heartbeat/swelling throat/dizziness/muscle twitching.....I have told them I am allergic to MSG and every time they wanted to take me to the hospital for my heart.  When I was at work, the nurses would call them (my heart rate would go to 166 or above) for the shot of epinephrine, but now I carry Benadryl with my everywhere and that starts to take effect to calm everything down in time for me not to be hospitalized.  I can not drive or walk for MANY hours afterwards, but I have friends and family who can help me out.

I have been 'pretty safe' for a few years because of knowledge and self learning, I have only a few episodes a year and they are usually accidental occasions in which I learn from each time.

My effects from MSG/Monosodium Glutamate are the WORST......where I found that from the 'hidden MSG' can range from BAD to VERY BAD (including Autolyzed yeast (extract), Calcium caseinate, Carrageenan, Hydrolyzed protein  (any protein that is hydrolyzed), Modified food starch, Sodium Caseinate, Textured protein, Yeast extract)

I am glad you had an feature on Campbell's Select.....my husband was all excited about the labels and bought some for me to try.  I haven't yet, since I see some of the ingredients that I know my body will not tolerate.

Happy New Year...

THANKS!!

N

IF MSG WASN'T HARMFUL, IT WOULDN'T BE HIDDEN
